Electricity Supply:

• - Tenaga Nasional Berhad a Khazanah Nasional Berhad company is the national electricity company that distributes electricity from TNB- owned facilities in and Independent Power Providers (IPPs) in Malaysia
  
• - Johor obtain their electricity supply from the central and eastern Peninsular Malaysia National Grid
  
• - Johor’s supply is further enhanced by the new-coal fired IPP that is able to produce 2100 MW at Tanjung Bin, which is approximately 30 km from SiLC (Commissioned as of September 2006- Currently under reliability testing and full steam slated in Q4 2007)
  - Tanjung Bin will be able to support the supply for the Southern Region

Malaysia has the 12th largest gas reserves and the 27th largest crude oil reserves in the world as at January 2001. As at 1 January 2001, Malaysia’s gas reserves stood at 97.6 trillion cubic feet (tcf). This translates to about 67 years of natural gas availability.

  

 

Waste Management:

 

Infrastructure Delivery
In Malaysia, toxic and hazardous wastes are called scheduled wastes as they are listed in 77 categories in the First Schedule of the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005. Examples are spent acid and alkaline, lubricating oil, printing ink, batteries, solvents, benzene, cyanide waste, pesticides, chromate waste, glue, etc. However, Kualiti Alam does not treat wastes that are radioactive, pathological or explosive

 

The law requires that scheduled wastes be properly packed, labelled, stored and inventoried. It is a requirement that scheduled wastes are to be treated and disposed off at facilities approved by the Department of Environment.

 

The integrated scheduled waste management system comprises the waste management centre at Bukit Nanas, Negeri Sembilan, and a transportation network to cover the peninsula.

 

The waste management centre has five major facilities for treatment and disposal of scheduled waste:- Incineration Plant, Physical/Chemical Treatment Plant, Solidification, Secure Landfill, Leachate Treatment Plant
